Etiology categories are a newer set of terms added to the eNCPT so the information can be captured as data. The categories are found in the eNCPT (which is a separate product that you purchase from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics) Once you have logged on the the Academy website, this link takes you to the Nutrition Diagnosis Etiology matrix. https://www.ncpro.org/pubs/2023-encpt-en/page-046
Each of the 10 categories has a plus sign next to it that allows you to view all the different etiologies that are currently included in Nutrition Diagnosis Reference sheets. These examples are used for you to determine if your etiology is similar to those that are listed.
